Avant Garde Furniture Resin Sculptures are the result of research for creating objects that strive to decorate contemporary and fashionable ambiences with taste, colour and imagination. The majority is made of resin, a material that is now very popular for the production of furnishing products. The process for making a resin sculpture is completely handmade. The ideas of our designers are brought to paper with sketches. With the help of these sketches, the sculptors create a clay model by hand, which is also called “soul” and that serves for the construction of a rubber mould. A curing liquid is added to the resin and manually poured into the moulds. Once the resin is cured, the moulds are opened and the raw sculptures are removed. Before they can be decorated, they must be cleaned of burrs and processing residues, repaired, sanded and then cleaned manually. When the surface of the piece seems perfect, a dense varnish called “primer” is sprayed on, which is the basis for the final decoration. The latter differs depending on whether you want to achieve a matte, shiny, metallised or other effect. If the sculpture cannot stand alone, it is mounted on a marble support that gives it stability. Now you can understand how much manual work is required to create these pieces before they are ready to beautify your home and how different their artisanal value.
