Warranty

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY

At Avant Garde Furniture, we handle Warranty in accordance with the Australian Consumer Protection legislation. We Warrant to you that all goods manufactured or supplied by us will be free from defects in material and workmanship subject to terms and conditions of this Warranty.

Our Warranty period is as follows:
Your purchase is covered by a 10 year Warranty. We want you to feel confident and secure that when you invest in our products, you are getting the best and most effective products available on the market. Your purchase is covered by a 10 year Warranty.

The Warranty encompasses the frame and manufacture of your item of furniture when used in a normal domestic situation. The Warranty does not cover bed mechanisms, seat and back inserts, hardware, fabric or leather. (These items have their own Warranties.)

All Components, Hardware, Bed mechanisms, Seat and Back inserts, Cushions, Fabric or Leather and Upholstery furniture for Seating (Sofas, Chairs, Stools, Ottomans, Beds) – 2 years.

Lighting products, Electrical components, Homewares, Mirrors, Wall Art, Rugs – 1 year.

This Warranty is based on observance of product maintenance procedures. This excludes fair wear & tear, improper use, vandalism, failure to use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, using it in an abnormal way; or failure to take reasonable care.

We will repair or replace, at our option, any goods that are defective by reason of faulty workmanship or defective materials. Some replacement parts may be subject to availability and may differ from those originally supplied. In this instance, replacement parts will be of a comparable nature, with functionality equivalent to the original part. Repaired or replaced goods or parts carry only the unexpired portion of the original Warranty period.

Only goods used for normal residential and commercial purposes are covered by this Warranty. This Warranty is not transferable. In addition, this Warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear; and
(b) Anything that is a result of a Natural characteristic of the material used; and
(c) Damage or defect caused by abuse, alteration, misuse, incorrect assembly, incorrect installation, storage or inappropriate handling; and
(d) All plumbing and electrical products which are not installed by a qualified tradesperson; and all defects caused as a result of your failure to follow the care instructions.
(e)Damage to metal or wood finish, fabric or surface due to incorrect use, incorrect care, cleaning or maintenance of product.

If the goods you purchased exhibit a defect covered by this Manufacturers Warranty within the Warranty period, you must contact us and produce the original purchase receipt as proof of purchase for all claims under this Warranty.

All repair or replacement parts and/or goods will be at our expense, but you will be liable for all other expenses, including but not limited to the cost of removal, transportation, reinstallation, communication and any special service requested by you, such as labour.

Disclaimer
Our luxury furniture is handmade, so no two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in colour, shading, texture, shape and grain are inherent features. No two items are perfectly alike so that every single piece is one of a kind. Similarly, variations may occur in colour and finish on painted surfaces, such as stained and lacquered timber.

Natural Materials
Furniture that is made of a natural material can vary in colour, structure and appearance. Each material used to create our furniture features natural veins, fissures and grains which give each item its unique finish. As a result, these naturally occurring characteristics are not considered to be a defect or fault of the product and may differ slightly to the images used.

Custom Furniture Warranty 
Your purchase is covered by a 10 year Warranty. The Warranty encompasses the frame and manufacture of your item of furniture when used in a normal domestic situation. The Warranty does not cover bed mechanisms, seat and back inserts, fabric or leather. (These items have their own Warranties.)

The Manufacturers Warranty also excludes any damage caused by accident, misuse, negligence or neglect, nor does it cover normal wear and tear. This Warranty only applies to the original purchaser of the item of furniture, (i.e. the person who first purchased the items), and is not transferable or assignable.

Disclaimer
With use it is natural for some fabrics and leathers to develop ‘comfort creases’ and for filling materials to soften and flatten to conform to body shapes. These are not considered manufacturing defects. Any unauthorized attempt to repair an item of Avant Garde furniture will render the Warranty null and void.

Claims
Please email us at concierge@avantgardefurniture.com.au , Your email should include the following information so that we can promptly resolve the issues:

  • Yours or your Customer’s name
  • The Sales Invoice / Delivery document number
  • Your own photographs of the damage from close up and from a distance to indicate perspective.

Minor Repairs under Warranty 
Furniture items that require minor repair on arrival are covered under the Warranty claim policy. Parts that require minor repair due to carton or delivery damage are Free of Charge for repairs under Warranty. For Labour credit the Standard service fee of $150.00 per hour with 2 hours maximum for any minor repairs. If we cannot offer repair service in your area we can offer reimbursement for maximum 2 hours. This covers furniture items damaged that require minor repair under our Warranty policy. For any Hardware replacement or Spare paint supplies they are provided Free of Charge to accommodate the repair. For goods Damaged on arrival please refer to our Policy pages.

Major Damage in transit or Missing components.
Items damaged in transit will be covered by shipping insurance. If you have received your item damaged or components are missing a claim must be made via our support center at sales@avantgardefurniture.com.au. This claim must be made within 48 hours of receiving the order. Proof of purchase and photos of the condition of the received goods are required to be submitted with the claim. If this is not done within the 48 hour period of receiving, Avant Garde Furniture has the right to refuse your claim.

Please note any Minor damage to items during delivery are covered under our warranty policy. We can provide spare parts and hardware to accommodate the minor repair excluding any labour costs. We can offer free parts and replacements only.
